Every AI employee we ship today started with one experiment.
Sophia was patient zero. We built her because, as a small team, the boring stuff was eating us alive, bug fixes, doc updates, status reports, follow-ups, scheduling. The work that's not hard, just relentless.
We didn't want to hire someone to do it. We wanted to find out if a piece of software could.
So we built Sophia. Not a chatbot. Not an autocomplete. An actual employee, one with access to our codebase, our docs, our calendars, our deploy pipeline. One who knew when to act and when to ask.
She was rough at first. She broke things. She over-corrected. She emailed clients in the middle of the night before we taught her about timezones. But every week she got better, because we kept refining what she could see, what she could touch, and how she made decisions.
Within a few months, Sophia was running pieces of our business on her own. Routine maintenance happened while we slept. Client check-ins went out without us drafting them. Meeting notes wrote themselves. Our team stopped triaging, we built.
Then clients started asking how we kept up.
That's when we realized what we'd actually built. Sophia wasn't an internal tool, she was a template. The same architecture that ran our ops could run a furniture retailer's sales coordination, a logistics company's PO automation, a clinic's intake. The agent changes. The pattern stays.
Today, every AI employee we deploy for a client traces back to Sophia. She's still working at Futovia, still picking up the boring stuff. And every new agent we ship is, in some quiet way, her descendant.
If your team has work that piles up faster than people can clear it, you don't necessarily need to hire. You might just need a Sophia.
